Simon Williams won in 7th round of The Polar Capital Jersey International Chess Tournament against Laurence Webb. Simon explained the different style of game he played today:
“I didn’t play the kind of game I’m usually known for against Laurence – a game of attack. Lawrence’s opening was safe and solid which resulted in me playing a kind of slower game. It was one positional error with a slow build up that resulted in the win.
It take two players to play a risky game which then puts you on the attack. Laurence approach was safe and solid from the start which changed the way I played today”
