Thomas Pitcher rated 1723 – The Open Round 5 Update
Thomas Pitcher has won 3/5 games and is having a really good tournament for his lowly rating – he’s pleased at how it is going.
In Round 4 Thomas played tournament co-organiser Paul Wojciechowski and commented “I was very happy with the move Ne4. Paul had just played the move Qg7 when Qe3 would have been better which allowed me to play Ne4 and winning material by force”
Round 5 Thomas won in 50 moves in a tough game against Scotland’s Jim Webster. Thomas is currently rated just 1723 and yet has won two weekend tournaments his latest being the Doncaster Chess Congress 2016. A player to watch.
